Maintenance of cryogenic liquid storage tanks

Analysis and treatment of common problems: The maintenance of the vacuum degree of the storage tank interlayer is the guarantee of the insulation performance of the storage tank, and it is also the fundamental guarantee for the normal operation of the storage tank.

After the storage tank is put into use, common problems are often related to the degree of vacuum retention. ⑴ There are obvious large areas of "sweating" and "frosting" outside the storage tank. It may be caused by the leakage of the pipeline in the interlayer of the storage tank, the unfilled pearl sand or other reasons that lead to the destruction of the vacuum of the interlayer. This requires inspection and repair, or leak detection, or supplementation of pearl sand, which can be re-evacuated. (2) The pressure of the inner cylinder of the storage tank rises abnormally, and the safety valve takes off. It may be caused by the following three reasons: a. The vacuum of the interlayer of the storage tank is destroyed; b. The inner cylinder booster valve fails, and the booster valve needs to be repaired or replaced; c. The leaking part of the lower part of the interface is in stainless steel and The welding place of the carbon steel shell, or the junction of the copper pipe and the stainless steel inner cylinder, that is, the dissimilar welded joint, mainly forms electrochemical corrosion at the dissimilar welded joint. (3) The amount of evaporation becomes larger and the degree of vacuum becomes smaller. It may be due to the outgassing of pearl sand. Pearl sand has a certain particle size and temperature requirements when filling. When the particle size and temperature of the pearl sand are inappropriate, after a period of operation, the pearl sand will release water vapor, which will reduce the vacuum degree and increase the evaporation capacity. (4) "Sweat" on the top of the outer cylinder of the storage tank. It may be caused by the accumulation of pearl sand in the lower part. After being put into use for a period of time, the pearlescent sand sinks to form a space on the top of the container, and the local thermal insulation effect is significantly reduced, causing the container to run cold. In this case, if the amount of evaporation is large, the top of the jacket outer cylinder can be excavated and added with pearl sand.
